BioHi. I'm Adrian. This journal mostly chronicles my various uncool fictional obsessions because Real Life bores me way too much to spend all of my time dealing with it.
I'll tell you what I like, because that's a lot easier than telling you what I am like.
Music: The Smiths, Nick Cave, Cherry Poppin' Daddies, Patti Smith, Joy Division, Bauhaus, Pulp, to name a few. Mostly old-ish rock, but I'm open to anything that has some substance to it.
Books: Lovecraft, Oscar Wilde, Fitzgerald, Dostoyevski, Poe, Hunter S. Thompson. I have no love for those thick Russian books they make you read at school.
TV: Monty Pythons, Only Fools and Horses, Coupling, Black Adder. You know, British humor. The X-Files, Millennium, VR. 5 and similar screwball 90s shows. Futurama, South Park, Transformers. Pen & Teller's Bullshit. A heavy anime diet, including Gurren Lagann, Cowboy Bebop, Baccano, Yugioh, Death Note, Evangelion, etc.
Movies: View Askewniverse. Most anything by Tarantino and Guy Ritchie. The Godfather and mobster flicks in general. Cheesy 80s B-movies like The Stuff and They Live. Bruce Lee. 80s/90s action movies. Bad Santa, Ghost World, American Beauty - movies that are hilarious, in spite of their serious/tragic subject matter. David Lynch. 70s/80s/90s European cinema.
